About Signature Months

The Division of Student Affairs/Cultures, Communities & Inclusion (CCI) celebrate signature "heritage months," celebrating the identities and histories of members of Georgia State’s global communities through vibrant performances, lectures, and activities that celebrate our rich cultural diversity and help us understand our shared history.

While these thematic, signature months will be celebrated, they by no means preclude other celebrations/observances, and should not be construed as the only themes/event months deserving of being shared through this website and university calendars.

The months to be observed include:
- Latinx Heritage Month: September 15 - October 15
- LGBTQ+ History Month: October 1-31
- Native American Heritage Month: November 1-30
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration: January
- Black History Month: February
- Women's HIstory Month: March
- Asian-Pacific Islander-Desi American Heritage Month: observed at Georgia State in April
Additionally, this website will communicate certain events occurring May-August, including observances of Juneteenth, through the Summer Heritage Events page, and an option is available below.

It is important that Georgia State's websites are accessible to all.
