To celebrate May as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, which honors the community's rich heritage and contributions that have been integral in shaping the United States' history, the Asian/Asian American Faculty Identity Group (AAAFIG) hosted a virtual panel discussion on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Panelists at the virtual event discussed issues on campus with special focuses on issues related to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), students, faculty and staff. This event occurred in the context of the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and discussed a major issue at the time: racist treatment and harassment of people from AAPI descent, and the concerns for safety of the AAPI community.
