A TASTE OF THE CARIBBEAN

Join Cultures, Communities & Inclusion in collaboration with Spotlight Programs Board for food, music and good vibes as we celebrate and explore the Caribbean culture during Caribbean-American Heritage Month!
Since 2006, the month of June has been designated as an observance to honor the rich culture and heritage of Caribbean people. This month also serves as recognition of the vast contributions Caribbean-Americans have made throughout the United States and the world.
PRIDE POOLOOZA

Student Recreation CenterStop by the Rec to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride month! All are welcome to come enjoy music, food, games and more at this summertime bash. Bring your friends as we celebrate and honor people of the LGBTQ+ community. Light refreshments will be served.
JUNETEENTH WELLNESS WALK

Campus GreenwayStep into history and celebration at our Juneteenth Wellness Walk! Join us as part of the Juneteenth Cookout in Unity Plaza for a one-mile stroll from the greenway. Listen to an audio guide that educates you on the history and significance of Juneteenth as we celebrate black freedom and resilience.
JUNETEENTH COOKOUT

Student Center East, Unity PlazaJuneteenth -- also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, or Emancipation Day -- is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States. All are invited to stop by for food, music, performances and more as we celebrate Black freedom and culture!

Student Center East, Unity PlazaAll are invited to join the Panther Activities Council on the Dunwoody campus to celebrate and honor the Juneteenth federal holiday with great food, music, giveaways and more!

Decatur Campus QuadAll are invited to head out to the Decatur campus as they fry up some fun in the sun to celebrate and honor the Juneteenth holiday! Food, music and good times will be provided.

Clarkston Student Center
All are invited to celebrate Juneteenth at the Clarkston campus! The student life team will have food, music, games and plenty of fun ways to honor this federal holiday.

The College of Education & Human Development's Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence will host this celebratory event for the Juneteenth national holiday. Attendees will learn how the newly emancipated took to building schools, which immediately resulted in Historically Black Colleges and Universities and many historical K-12 spaces where freedom meant more than legislative will – it meant access to knowledge and opportunities. Attendees will participate in an exploratory exercise on applying the concept of freedom historically and to Black, Indigenous and people of color in the 21st century. JUNETEENTH SWIM CELEBRATION

Student Recreation CenterDive into history and celebration at the Juneteenth Swim Celebration! Immerse yourself in informative displays and presentations, learn valuable swimming skills in our lessons led by certified instructors and groove to uplifting music with aqua dance sessions. Enjoy live musical performances, pamper yourself with poolside haircare services and connect with the community through informational booths and conversations.
